York Road Garage is a family-run business with a combined 77 years of experience in car servicing, vehicle repairs and diagnostics. We take a great deal of pride in the service we provide and work hard to maintain our standards. Our Team

Jon Stephenson - Co-Owner

Jon attended York College between 1976 and 1980, achieving an engineering degree.

From there, Jon worked for Ford Motor Company where he worked on diesel engine prototype development.

Jon has been self-employed for 30 years and has owned York Road Garage for 19 years along with brother David.

Jon has many specialised industry skills and is a qualified air-conditioning technician.

David Stephenson - Co-Owner

David worked for Audi/Volkswagen for 24 years and in this time achieved the highest level available within the brand of becoming a Master Technician (AAE MIMI) Advanced Automotive Engineer, Member of the Institute of Motoring Industry.

Qualifications

City and Guilds levels 1-4 in light vehicles - 1987-1991

Audi/Volkswagen factory courses completed are as follows:

Customer Comes First, Electrics Part 1, Electrics Part 2, Electrics Part 3, Engine Management, Advanced Engine Management, Diesel Engine Management, Advanced Diesel Engine Management, Manual Gear Box/Auto Gear Box, Convenience, Topology, Advanced Body, Infotainment, Air conditioning, Wheel Alignment, ABS and Associated Systems and Occupant Safety.

Brand licensing courses which include the following:

A8, A6, A3, Q5 and Q7

And finally a 12 week Master Technician Assessment.

Sarah

Sarah has recently joined the team here at York Road Garage and plays a very big role in the running of the business. She has a wide range of experience in IT and customer skills.

Sarah has held a number of corporate and business management posts in the public sector including the Department of Education and Local Government organisations. She left the NHS at the beginning of 2011 to focus on further study.
